Marcus Rashford has been at Manchester United since the age of seven.
Manchester United may have decided to see off Marcus Rashford during the January transfer window. But every offer is not expected to be considered. The club hopes to gain significant profit from the sale of Rashord who has extended his stay at Old Trafford till 2028, signing a new contract earlier in July. Back then, it seemed unlikely that Manchester United would release him anytime soon. Club owner Sir Jim Ratcliff, however, wants to offload Rashford in January to avoid any breach of the profit and sustainability rules, the Daily Mail reported.
Being a product of the Red Devils Academy, Rashford’s sale would be logged as a 100 percent profit in the balance sheet, going by the rule for homegrown players. The English forward has been at the club since the age of seven. He was promoted to the first team in 2016.

Manchester United have reportedly set the asking price for Rashford. In the past when Rashford had been linked with transfers to other clubs, the amount remained mostly around £100 million. But now, Manchester United are ready to release him for just £40 million, as per Daily Mail.
If the club doesn’t receive any viable offer in this price tag, they may need to put either Alejandro Garnacho or Kobbie Mainoo on sale. This move, however, may prove costly for Ruben Amorim’s squad.
When Rashford first emerged on the international scene, he was tipped as one of the brightest forward prospects in Europe. He, however, has failed to match the expectations over the last two seasons. Rashford registered 30 goals and 10 assists in the 2022-23 campaign in 56 appearances across all competitions.
In the next 2023-24 session, Rashford managed only 8 goals and five assists in 43 matches. His performance has been the same this year as well. In the ongoing campaign, Rashford has featured in 23 matches and scored seven goals while providing three assists.
The 27-year-old has made it to the starting eleven on a few occasions this season. He had warmed the bench in the last two Premier League fixtures against Arsenal and Nottingham Forest. The Manchester United hierarchy is also reportedly not happy with his “lifestyle and focus”.
