PL holders City, have also been a far cry from their best as they sit just two places above the Old Lady in 17th on the UCL table with a point card identical to that of the side from Turin.
City will be without the services of star midfielder and Ballon d’Or winner Rodri in addition to defenders John Stones, and Nathan Ake and midfielders Mateo Kovacic, and Oscar Bobb among other notable names for the clash in Turin.
The situation at the other end doesn’t seem too much stronger as Juve will be devoid of the services of Gleison Bremer, Juan Cabal and Arkadius Milik to name a few.
Juve head coach Thiago Motta opined that there is never an optimum time to play a side as strong and accomplished as Manchester City, but added that it was upto him and his side to play to their strengths and look to dig out a result against Pep Guardiola’s men.
“I don’t think there is a best time to play Manchester City, but we will face the match as we always do, by trying to stop them from playing their football and impose our own play on them,” Motta said.
Juventus have picked up eleven draws from their previous twenty games across all competitions and also had a visit from the Agnelli family figurehead John Elkann at their training ground in Continassa on Monday.
Motta voiced that he would leave judgment on his quality as a manager up o the fans and experts while he remains focused on working with the team and attempting to approach the game in the right manner.
“I leave it to you to judge my work,” said Motta to reporters.
“All I do is keep working with the boys to improve and face our opponents with the right attitude,” the Juve boss concluded.
